Compassionate Leadership Summit - Day 1

The first day of a two day dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and young leaders from around the world involved in initiatives or organizations that value compassionate and ethical leadership at his residence in Dharamsala, HP, India on October 18, 2022. The Summit is organized by Richard Davidson and Dan and Tara Goleman.

I understand the frustration of the young Irish fellow to hear about dealing with injustice and brutality with love and compassion. It has been done before and succeeded to various degrees (Martin Luther King, Gandhi, and the struggle of women in general). But to approach difficulties with anger and aggression only results in more anger and destruction. I've lived long enough and fought for many years only to see things not change very much and in some ways gr worse. So I've chosen the Dalai Lama's advice. It offers a way develop oneself and then be able to approach difficulties more skilfully. AND it requires a lot of patience. It's hard to be patient when you are young.
