Nice job and very reassuring for first-timer. Two suggestions that work for us to pass along: 1. Clean the dryer trap area first, then run on fluff cycle to push any remaining lint out of dryer. 2. Flexible venting is cheap; just detach and replace it. Less mess too. 😊

When I saw the Nerf darts I had to chuckle. My son is about to turn 21. We still find them in random places around the house from when he was maybe six or seven.

The pieces of the extension rod only come unscrewed if you turn it counterclockwise. I definitely recommend using electrical or painters tape at each connection point.

This is very helpful. I just came across a TikTok video the girl said her house almost burned because of clogged vents. I’ve never cleaned my vents and had my dryer over 20 years 😮. Now to decide if I’m capable of doing this myself or should I hire someone. Thank you so much.

My husband's work was restoration ... Mostly burned out houses ... the Dryer the ventilation fans Such as in bathrooms, an heater's or air conditioners plugged into an extension cord were alot of the cause of the fires . #1 cause was a Dryer or Ventilation fan ... I never leave either of those on if I'm not home while their running ...

Actually, you need to reach inside the dryer and remove the 4 screws that hold the filter holder in place...
Then, you will see all of the lint that still remains inside that gap, especially at the bottom of the dryer... You got some out, but not all that you could have....

I had a fire caused by not cleaning my dryer vent. I always cleaned out the dryer screen but never the vent. I thought this happened to others. I now get this done professionally every 2 years for each time $200. Worth every penny. I’m over charged but…….

You missed cleaning the vent in the wall after you unscrewed the vent if you look back into that you can see what I’m talking about it was completely blocked I hope you cleaned it
