i use three shapes for the eyes, a diamond, a 5 point star and a triangle, smooth either top or bottom points of the diamond, straighten 1-3-4 of the star and just straighten the rest, if the eye dosent fit with the character, i change lines a little or redraw a shape, it looks scuffed as hell but its my way to keep consistent eyes, with this method i can keep track of the eyes and can mirror them easily

I absolutely agree thatwith the anime eye change since the old anime eye style doesn't look thst good anymore i even think drawing simi relastic or like human eye shape whatever the style is as long as it looks better and more attractive personally if ur character eyes isn't attractive i won't give it a chance it's the most important piece of the whole art for me always remember the face is where u wanna let it be good but that doesn't mean to draw sloppy characters so the point is break out from the anime shape form that u see in episodes look more into manga
