If it does come true then F1 will be an actual world championship

I live in Rwanda and have for the past 9 years, I have been a fan of f1 for about 3 years and thought of this exact topic from time to time if there is going to be an f1 race in Rwanda it will have to be near the new airport as none of the streets here are capable of hosting an f1 race and I don't think they ever will. They will have to build a brand new track and at that point they might as well just improve Kyalami to a grade 1 track and host an African Grand Prix there

Im Rwandan. We build things pretty quick and efficiently if we plan far ahead. The meeting is probably for a race in the far flung future.

Rwanda's been trying to be a sporting center for the region for a while now, spearheading African NBA, biking and football efforts. I think we can do it.

Knowing it from GT sims, I'd looove to see Kyalami in F1. It's such a cool track.
I'm really starting to get angry at Stefano Domenicale though. Blocks Andretti, disregards Kyalami, brings on another street circus in Las Vegas. Almost makes me wish we still had Ecclestone in charge :D

Guys the location has been already mentioned in numerous articles.
‘’A permanent track 15km outside Kigali close to the international Cricket ground’’
So speculation should now be where exactly in Gahanga where the cricket ground is located. Furthermore, I reckon there is enough, free and government owned land just before the cricket ground in Gahanga. It was initially planned for a new Olympic stadium which plan was later abandoned as we now have a pretty and huge stadium in Remera. I am surprised no one thought this land could be now used for the F1 track. To make this option even more plausible, the land use in the master plan is sport and recreational facilities ( P2).

you should do a video about what f1 team logos would look like if they were f1 tracks, similar to the driver logo video

I'm pretty sure I read a statement from FIA or Rwanda they want a purpose built race track, not a street one.

Formula E do have a blank space on their 2025 calender, so the fia might be hosting a race for Formula E to test the circuit.

I am an architect from Rwanda. The country especially Kigali the capital is mountainous, the new airport in the south is in a relatively flat area but also the terrain and infrastructure are still raw, so every place in the country would be challenging. BUTT, challenges come with great opportunities, if studied well, the tracks and spectator seats might come out really unique in the world and set world records in terms of engineering and architecture.

Let's check who's in charge of that country. Oh dear.

Man, I'm really hoping this comes true. For once I could actually drive from my country to watch a race instead of long flights all the time

I so wish for a Greenland gp during the summer at -6°C at most. Cause Newey needs a proper challenge to stay in F1

Maybe you could start a series on the channel taking random countries from around the world and scouting for possible locations to host theoretical F1 races. Go into more detail as to how the logistics would work, look at existing tracks and then design your own. Just an idea...

Rwanda's construction strategies focus heavily on expanding infrastructure on the outskirts of the city, which could potentially lead to the F1 stadium being built outside of the main urban area. This approach could be smart for both city expansion and creating more tourist attractions. A balanced development strategy might help boost tourism while also managing urban growth efficiently. plus it's important to consider that all the areas mentioned in the video are lowlands prone to flooding, with soil too soft for proper tarmac roads.
