Just the fact that it has a split-poly feature already sold me on the plugin. I was using 3dCoat for retopo because of this, but now I can stay in Maya! Most of the other apps that just do retopo like TopoGun don't have things like split/knife polygon so I can't rework the flow of the designed retopology mesh as I create it and also allow for N-gon creation(an essential in my own workflow). They force you to make final res topology quad by quad by quad by quad which is too slow imo. I tend to create the larger structure with bigger faces so I get the pole placements exactly where I want them, then split into the larger faces to increase the resolution and cut in the smaller areas. More of a hierarchal top down low res to high res approach.
