Maseratis are not cars for 1/4 miles. They are work of art for the road. If you plan to buy a car for 1/4 miles, there are a bunch of cars that can do a better job for less money. I own two Maserati Granturismo MC Stradales, a Dodge Viper Gen 5, and a Mercedes CLK black series. To this day, I drive the Maseratis the most because they feel like no other. Put a Stradale Maserati on manual/sport mode, and the sound is like heaven to your ears. Bmws are great motors. I used to have a bmw z4 35is tuned by ESS and that thing was pretty quick. But I'll take Maserati over BMW any day any time... No point to even discuss...totally different category... light years apart, and not a fair comparison for the BMW brand. But for the guy who owns that Maserati, there is nothing wrong with doing the race just to be a good sport! Both great cars!

I have huge respect for BMW’s...and the Maserati lost fair and square. I have a 06 Maserati Gransport that I bought back in early 07’. I still love this car, it hits 62 mph in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of over 180 mph with a normally aspirated V8. My point is this, these are fast cars built to travel across the country at very high speeds for long periods of time. I enjoy all the finicky Italian characteristics that make me want to drive it everyday. I think BMWs are magnificent pieces of machinery, just not my taste. I am impressed with how they can take a turbocharged car to new limits. My hats off to them.

Stupid match. A GT is not a race car based on performance exclusively. An MC is the perfect balance with sporty drive, high standing, exclusivity and refinement.

In a lot of ways Maserati is misunderstood. Its a touring car with style and great sound - The kind of car that’s fun to drive through mountain passes, m-series and AMG are purpose built track cars. Both are very good at their intended purpose.

No one mentions that the Mas Gt was killing the M4 in the 1st 6 seconds and was still ahead of the M4 in at least the 1st 8 seconds. Which translates to the fact that the Mas GT was definitely faster 0-60 in this race at least.

No way the Maserati wins. Much as I love it, it's too heavy and not powerful enough to hang with M-cars. ...That said, I'd always prefer the Maserati, anyway. 😍
