If you use new version of eclipse all these plug-in is Pre-install and we do not need to follow all these step.
Just check select Help > About Eclipse Platform > Installation detail >. Plug-in Details. Search maven.

Hi Koushik, I followed your tutorial to create a webapp.
However, the project shows a red x error on the project name, and it does not show any error log.
But the project is running well with jetty:run !!

Can you please let me know how I can fix the red x on the project name?

I tried multiple times to install m2e to ecplise but always I find that in maven menu "Run As" > "compile & package" is missing.
I tried with Classic, Java, JavaEE eclipse versions, but in all I am getting the same result.
