Hey Brett, I recently got a google home, and have been having trouble calling up a specific video on youtube. I usually get a list of suggestions, or the home assistant does something completely different from what I've asked for. I tried a few different video names and channels, including the one used in this video, and it doesn't seem to work as expected. I realize this video is 2 years old, however, I was wondering if things have changed, and this no longer works. I was initially going to go with Alexa as my only assistant, but have some things that don't work with the echo, but work with google. So I have both, however I still find Alexa to be the more reliable for the most part. Anyway do you have any suggestions on how to make Google more reliable as well? Thanks

I don't have to use my phone to cast youtube videos to my TV if I have the Google Home mini and Chromecast? I thought Chromecast only worked with a device to use to cast to TV? Do I have to subscribe to a youtube service?

Thanks for all the info. I've been looking for a way to use my google home speakers that are in a 'speaker group' while casting a movie to the tv using Chromecast. Nice vid! Just bought my Home Mini today. Is there any chance to select any specific live stream or channel on Youtube via Google Home? It seems like it just picks random videos from my favourite channel. Also I can't say something like "Play the latest video from channel xy." :(

Question I use to be able to listen to music on YouTube and be able to lock my phone and minimize YouTube now out of nowhere it dosnt let me I been Youtubing and a videos show I have to download firefox and all sorts

What I don't understand is why I cant cast from my pixel to my Google mini. When i press the cast icon on my phone it doesn't see my mini. Cant see anything online about this 'problem' - maybe it cant do it.
I know I can mirror my device but the sound is out of sync with my phone. Its daft as I can cast a Spotify podcast but not YouTube content.
