Why Limits are Important in Calculus

I give an overview of how limits are used in two main concepts of Calculus. Finding slope of a curve at a given point and finding area under a curve.

Everyone should promote this channel!! People can always get last minute help, or when the tutor center closes and they still need more explainination. I get the professors to make an announcement (or to let me) in front of the class every semester about your YouTube channel!!! And then I remind people in the math tutoring center every time I get a chance! Two days ago I had someone reply “oh yeah I’ve seen that guy...he’s good!” And I said, “yeah man, I wish I had a teacher like that in high school.” And they say “what!? He’s a high school teacher? Woah. Those kids must be smart.” Ha ha! Keep rocking on you guys! And people reading- please keep tipping the teacher to keep this channel going!

My first day of calculus, my professor (rightfully) told me to drop the class as I hadn't taken a math class in nearly 5 years (and it was a six week summer course). I went home and immersed myself in this channel. Thanks to the depth, breadth, and clarity of information presented, I passed the class. With an A.

Congratulations on you 97% exam grade. I know you worked hard for that. My videos start with differential calculus. The book I used for Calculus focuses on limits and introducing and working with derivative for three chapters before introducing integration. I know my videos are not complete for calculus but if you start going through my videos in the order they are in my playlist you should have a very nice head start. I am proud of you for all the effort you are putting into your education

I too sometimes have trouble completing a lesson at school in the allotted time period...thats one reason why YouTube teaching works so well for me, since my teaching style is all about the explanation.

In a way they are the same. If we are talking horizontal asymptotes, then the limit as x approaches infinity is equal to the y value of the horizontal asymptote. I have videos about infinite limits and vertical asymptotes and limits as x approaches infinity and horizontal asymptotes. You can find them in my calculus playlist.
