I have Pella Windows. They are just impossible to open for cleaning.. I am 5’6” and the upper window is absolutely impossible for me to open for cleaning the outer surface. The models at the Pella Window store were low and extremely easy to open. I feel so duped.😕

I just moved into a new house with Pella windows - what a pain to open them for cleaning!!!
I am not sure what other products they offer, but this way of opening is the worst. My old house had windows with those little holes on top of each sash that you push to open the window. Is it seriously such a big deal to install it?
I have already made tens of attempts to tilt the top section - impossible, impossible....

It is not clear at all how to disconnect the bottom sash. Do I need to move a wall a little bit to the left and to the right?

So we were really excited about getting Pella windows in our house, until we got to the project closing. I experienced what best could be described as "deceptive" financing. It seems that the head honcho gets a bonus by compelling his finance team to not deliver on the promised 24 mo same as cash option. I must say it felt like a used car sales room. "My" sales guy did his best but in the end the fellow in charge of the financing had no interest in my needs at all. Pella can say what they want but they pick thier financing partnerships and this choice reflects poor ethics.

I order these thru a lumber yard that I trusted knew exactly what I wanted….what I was used to with other double hung…slider on top of both sashes to slide & tip the window in. Never dreamed I would get the worthless method (design). Salesman had no clue this was their design. He was wrong for not being aware. I am 76 with arthritis. Windows are put in so what can I do? Never will buy another Pella window. Their designers are STUPID!!
I live my windows clean with the sun coming through a spotless window, inside & out. To a few weeks but I “invented” & built a contraption to do what my hands couldn’t. I still absolutely discussed with Pella!

Not too impressed with this instructional video. More centered on how to put your window in a position to be cleaned with no info on cleaning other than take an unknown rag or cloth from your back pocket and quickly wipe the window before hurriedly shutting the window. The video was brief so not a lot of wasted time anyway.
