We followed Jackson's introduction instructions with all out kitties and have always had success.

Thank you Jackson. Introductions are so important. It takes effort to focus on things from the cats' perspectives instead of our own objectives.
The poor scared cats are at our mercy and depend on us using good judgment for these milestone situations.

Jackson, when I found you 15 yrs ago, we've taken in 4 strays. We had difficulty w/intoductions. We ðid everything you said (list is long) and on average it took 5 months to a yr. We never forced it, even would install screen doors as temp. bdrm. doors, scent swapping, at door feedings, etc etc etc. It took me a few yrs. to realize my Lily would of preferred life as an only. Sad, for all of them BUT today, she "tolerates" the others.... I (selfish) could never of re-homed her . Jackson, i luv all you've taught us, I will be forever grateful, I remain a student for life in learning more about these beautiful animals 🎉 Jackson, I watch you each day. When you came onto TV initially, my jaw dropped & said aloud FINALLY There were NO voices for cats before you. PLUS you were a dude...PLUS. a cool cat....PLUS you said what i already knew AND taught us all more about cats dynamics....Lets not forget "the slow blink I LOVE YOU". Thank you sooo much Jackson....I'm sending you a "slow blink".❤

Cats are all so different. We introduced our boys to the new kitten, we literally just sat on the couch with him, the boys came in and they immediately started rubbing on him. Within 6 hours they were in in a hugging pile on their favorite blanket and showing him where we keep the toys.

We do the door and swap them so they can smell eachother without fights. Then we do gates so they can see and smell eachother. For about a week or until we feel its ok we don't let them be by each other unsupervised. We have 4 cats and done this a few times now. We have a large house so they have space to not be by eachother when they dont want to. Its works.

This is why I took litter mates. No issues at all! ♥️♥️

The introduction btwn my 1st cat Aja and Squishy Lilly didn't go so well. Aja hid in the closet and became a "wallflower cat", I did what Jackson said and got Aja out of the closet and closed the door. Today Aja and Squishy Lilly get along great, they play and sleep together. Thank you Jackson for your advice. 😻

I use a screen door but I cut out the screen and use the bars from the walls of a dog kennel. I zip tie the bars securely around the edges of the door. They can actually fit their paws through the bars but they can't hurt each other so each one feels safe. Then I follow Jackson's advice on feeding them closer and closer to the door. Works really good!!!

In her defense, not all of us are as knowledgeable about kitties as Jackson. I know ALOT more NOW, after watching a ton of his videos. But before I watched them, especially years ago, I didn't know ANYTHING about kitties. I thought I did, I thought I was being a good kitty mommy, I wasn't. (Which I feel horrible about now 😢) but we learn, from our mistakes and from Jackson. I'm a much better kitty mommy now. Still more room for learning.
I LOVE my two kittys! So so much! I wanna take the best care of them that I can! ❤😻❤😻

I'm adopting a pair of kittens on the 3rd July, I can't wait. It has been 13 years and 7 months since the last time I adopted a young kitten. I have 3 seniors aged 11-15, so I'm going through Jackson Galaxy cat videos to give myself a refresher course on introducing kittens. My seniors are all still playful, we play daily, but not KITTEN level playful, so a pair is an absolute must. They're going to be called Betelgeuse and Wednesday. I already have Morticia, along with Doom (the last tiny kitten I adopted) and Pandora (who was 5-6 months when I adopted her). Sadly I lost my Regan in 2022 and Slayer in 2023, both due to age related illnesses. So it's nice to be ADDING some new family members, instead of losing some 💔.

food and treats are important motivators for cats. giving them their meals in a safe distance from each other can help break the ice. it is a process and you adjust to the individual situation at home.

I enjoy these assessments made by Jackson. We should be more thoughtful about what our resident cat needs before getting another cat.

I have followed Mr. Galaxy's suggestions before when fostering a cat that might be harder to make friends. These little tricks really work. Socializing happens slowly with cats, same as humans (most animals are like that)

I took tons of Jackson galaxy intro tips and other tips I found online and did an extremely slow intro. Instead of a baby gate I used the screen out of my window and wedged it into the hallway (starting with a blanket covering it then later slowly removing it) and had amazing results.
Getting them to associate each other's scents with good things and feeding them on opposite sides of a barrier worked so well for us

We were nervous introducing our new cat to our oldboy because he's a bit of a curmudgeon. We just opened the box we brought her home in and let her decide when she wanted to come out since he was sleeping. Took him three hours to realize there was someone new in the house. He mrowwed loud at her a few times and she just stared at him, then he came over to complain to us, then stomped over to his water bowl. We made sure they both had ample room to distance themselves if they needed to, and everything was fine aside from some fussing over who used which litterbox which resolved in a couple days.

Let them introduce themselves to each other. Yep there will be hissing until they settle down.❤

Miracle of Buttercup. We found a 1.3 lb kitten under our couch. We have 5 other rescue cats, 3 dogs of our own, 3 dogs we inherited from passing of inlaws and one more rescue that a lady was going to leave in a car in 10 degree weather.
OK, we went on a day trip four hours away during some stormy weather. Came back the next day by 6pm. Husband sitting on the couch kept hearing a kitten crying and thought it was our other rescue from last year but I had already let her outside through the garage. Turned all noises off (aka the TV). I heard it under our couch, reached under to get her. No hissing, no arm swats, nothing. Our dogs didn't even alert us to something in the house or under the couch. Their all use to our cats and get along.
We couldn't believe it, this kitten went through a storm, through our yard, past 7 dogs & 5 cats, through the doggy door into our house. She was famished. We did check the neighbors to make sure since she wasn't acting feral. Apparently a lady feeds and pets the feral cats so she was already used to human contact. We took her to the vet, she's good, again only 1.3 lbs. God gave us another fur baby. Now she is a furious bundle of fun chasing the other cats and playing with the dogs and chickens. Yes, 7 chickens that roam our yard. She'll even drink water right next to the chickens.
We named her Buttercup. I know, everyone said "Stormie" but you know names have an impact on personality. So, no. We gave her a sweet name.

I played with each cat in separate rooms before I brought them together. That way, they don't have the same fighting energy, and it teaches the first cat that the second cat means extra play. It took about a week until I could trust my 2 year old wouldn't kill the kitten. At first, the older cat played too rough, but he is more gentle now. In truth I think my cats did better than what is expected. They are such good cat's. Smudge is the best big brother ever.
