I never fully realised that Stanley spent his entire life trying to be somebody hes not, and was fully prepared to give up his entire identity and memory and pretend to be Stanford for one final time to save everybody. I knew the ending of Gravity Falls was a masterpiece but goddamn it hurts even more thinking about everything that lead up to Stanley making that choice. Man.

A perfect representation of Stan in the series. Stan had NOTHING as Stanley Pines but had EVERYTHING as Stanford Pines. Despite his shady behavior, Stanford had a thriving business, the general acceptance of his community, AND his nephew trusted him enough to leave two young children in Stanford's care.
What did Stanley have?

EDIT: Why is everyone using this comment to debate about who Dipper & Mabel's grandfather is? The show told us years ago at the beginning of A Tale of Two Stans. Go rewatch it.

The little things about Stanley makes me love him so much, the fact that his boat in the beginning of the show was called the Stan’o’war, his humor, his story, the fact that the con man was the only Pine to not get tricked by Bill, his love for the kids, and GOD THAT PUNCH IN THE FINALE. I know Ford spent years becoming a outlaw in the multiverse but Stanley will always be the cooler twin imo.

stan is actually the most selfless man in the series, he only wants money to keep the shack open and save his brother, he sacrificed himself (well atleast for an hour in weirdmageddon 3 but its three minutes for us) to save his family and everyone in gravity falls

Stan is one of the Greatest characters in media IN A LONG TIME... One of the most insanely badass respectable men in all of the entertainment industry... He is the EMBODIMENT of masculinity and what it means to be a brother. He spent 30 YEARS figuring out science LITERALLY NOBODY ON THE PLANET could ever hope to understand to get his brother back AND DIDNT EVEN GET A GENUINE THANK YOU FOR IT... Like it or not his brother will always be THE BAD GUY OF THE FRANCHISE... Ford literally brought about the end of the world and is STILL SEEN as the good guy

This is amazing! It honestly made me think about what stan’s family thought after he faked his death, like he (Stanley) was never mentioned by dipper, Mable or their parents, and dipper and Mable definitely didn’t know there was two of them, plus it makes me wonder if stan’s parents, if they were still alive, even cared that he had supposedly died and it just makes me feel so bad for our bestest grumpy old man 😢
