True story -- my INTP husband proposed with a PowerPoint presentation. How appropriate.

I’m an INFJ engaged to an INTJ and he didn’t even beat around the bush from the beginning of our relationship. He said “look I’m tired of things falling apart on me so if you want to date then you need to decide if marriage is what you want first”
As an INFJ I was so relieved I cried

I love INFJ practicing proposing, that IS something they'd totally do, since they're crazy planners!

I knew he'd pull that hypothetical proposal when it came to INFJ, we just can't catch a break from living out our ideal futures in our minds, can we.

INFPs have the whole proposal script already prepared. But then awkwardness gets them and they make it weird af. And go on saying something to make it less weird which is actually weirder. And the chain continues until they realise it.

INTJ woman here. I told INFP boyfriend the exact parameters of when he could propose to me six months in advance because I could tell by his flushed and nervous behavior that he had bought a ring. He agreed and when he achieved the necessary steps (had some financial things to work out), he sang me a song from Moulin Rouge at sunset next to a waterfall complete with backing track and pulled out the ring. Win / win.

I'm and INTJ married to an ISTJ for 28 years. Here's how it went down:

First 4 months of dating: I made sure we covered lifestyle, financial views,
religious/philosophical views, and childrearing views in our
conversations-he was fine with that. When it was clear we were
compatible he proposed.

Him (ISTJ): I want to marry you.
Me (INTJ): I want that too.
Him (ISTJ): Then we should do that.
Me (INTJ): OK
Him (ISTJ): I'll take you ring shopping this weekend. I don't know what you like and I really want you to like it.
Me (INTJ): OK

It was the perfect proposal for us. And I picked out exactly the ring I liked. He was surprised it cost less than he expected. I was EXACTLY the INTJ bride FJ's 16 Personalities as Brides portrays 6 months after we started dating. Not only did I do it my way as a small intimate affair, we (everyone including parents involved) had no debt from it, came in under budget, and hubs and I made a tidy profit from financial gifts.

A year later on our anniversary:

Him (ISTJ): So you had a pros and cons list for marrying me and you checked off items one at a time while we were dating, didn't you?
Me (INTJ): Of course, but it wasn't a physical list; it was in my head.

INTJ proposing was hilarious! My husband is an INTJ and when he proposed he literally walked up, got down on one knee and with a ring said "I really need you to take this for me." At that point we had been planning our wedding for 2 months already.😂😂

Not gonna lie, INFJ got us in the first half. I was really happy for him and at the same time I was also surprised for his courage and well-articulated expressions.

My husband is an ISTJ. He proposed and then apologized, because he felt it was lacking. 😆
Him: “Will…you…marry me? I’m sorry, I wanted to say more, but my mind went blank. That was all I could get out.”

My INTP husband (finally) proposed on the beach at sunset. He suddenly dropped to one knee and handed me a piece of printer paper. At the top in small writing : "I could say many reasons why I love you..." All the way at the bottom: "Will you marry me?"

My ENFJ self was wanting to see all the reasons filling the huge blank area in between. I had a laughing attack and said "yes."

I enjoy how smoothly INTPs can articulate theories and strategies yet how awkwardly they convey personal feelings (I've learned to interpret subtle eyebrow movements as romantic gestures).

Loved the video, FJ, especially the INFJ!!

My fiance just proposed last month. He's an INFP and yes, it was hilariously awkward and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. As an INFJ, I already had the majority of the wedding planning done before he proposed, and yes, I did ask for a sustainable diamond :)

I am an ENFP female, married to an INTJ male. Can attest to the accuracy of this skit. “So, you’ve been the best girlfriend ever, I think you will be the best wife ever. Will you marry me?”

As an INFP whose wedding anniversary is April 1st, I feel so called out. We'd been engaged for 7 months and had applied for the license in March. Woke up on April Fool's and said, "Hey, do you want to elope today? Nobody will believe us. Haha, just kidding! Unless?" The courthouse clerk even asked us if we were joking. Been married for almost 9 years.

That INFJ man did a perfect rehearsal, but when he find that lady (qualified candidate) he might be running away 🤭

INFP here. I told my partner in advance that I’d buy a set of rings as a Valentine’s Day gift. Comes the day, I propose, I’m rejected, and can play it off as being a dramatic way to hand out the rings. We keep wearing the matching set for 6 months until I can’t keep the pain in anymore and admit that it was a legit proposing. 10/10 for accuracy, don’t recommend anyone proposes like that ever

My husband, an ISTP, had a file called 'DER' (Diamond Engagement Ring) that he kept for months before he proposed. It housed all of the research he was doing to buy the perfect ring.

I'm an INFJ, and I actually accidentally ended up proposing to my husband without even realizing it. 🤔 He kept dropping hints so I was trying to let him know that it was safe to ask me... Yeah, that didn't come out right... I think I should have rehearsed the interaction a few more times in my head first. 😅 As the girl, I had never once practiced giving a proposal. Clearly that was an oversight! I totally didn't even realize he had taken it as a proposal until several days later. We were long distance (like literally "long-distance" back when it cost a lot of money to call someone who lived an hour away, and we only saw each other on the weekends) at the time and when we talked on the phone later the next week, he said he was so excited and he had told his parents and they were excited and I was literally like, "told them what?" I was completely confused. He goes, "umm, that were engaged..." I mean, I guess the results were the same and it was going to be way too awkward to correct, so I just went along with it. But, if I was going to propose, I would have done something seriously romantic. It wouldn't have just been in a random conversation. Instead, I was apparently engaged for nearly a week and didn't even know it... 🙄

(He's ISFP, if you're wondering)
