Looking for a lightweight sling that's minimalist and functional?

The Sympl Phone Sling is here to cover all your needs as it's a great pocket reliever.

It is a vertical sling that can be worn horizontally, or you can easily remove the strap and make it a pouch! This small sling can only fit up to an iPhone Pro Max plus a couple of your small travel essentials like wallet/cards, mini notepads, pens, etc. It's made with durable and weatherproof materials, so regardless of the weather, you are definitely good to go!

Another thing about it is that it can be attached to other Sympl backpacks through its magnetic attachment point. You may also attach it to your pants but we are kind of concerned for its security overall.

To learn more about our honest thoughts about the Sympl Phone Sling, watch our video for an in-depth review!

Get the Sympl Phone Sling if…

✅ You think that it has great look and aesthetic.

✅ You love that it has easy access to its main compartment.

✅ You need a sling that is made to protect your phone from any spillage or accidental drops.

DO NOT get the Sympl Phone Sling if…

❌ You need a tech pouch that could hold a lot more than this. Below's another alternative... 👇🏼

🎒 Black Ember Kompak pouch
✍🏼 This tech pouch/sling has 3 separate compartments/pockets: front lid, main compartment that has a clamshell opening, and tech compartment.

❌ You need a slightly bigger sling that is definitely not bulky. Check below for another great option… 👇🏼

🎒 Alpaka Vertical Sling
✍🏼 This is another vertical sling option that offers more room for bigger stuff like Kindle. It's also made with great materials so you could shrug off any accidental spilling and sling-dropping.

❌ You want a sling with a hippy/urban vibe and more color options. This is another recommended option for you… 👇🏼

🎒 Bellroy City Pouch Plus
✍🏼 This lightweight pouch is an awesome option if you like its hippy/playful design. Plus, it's got a ton of color options to fit your style.

I have this Sympl phone sling and love it. It’s my everyday carry “pocket reliever” as you call it, perfect name for it lol. I haven’t had the need to connect it to any of my sympl backpacks yet, so don’t have feedback on that. But as a vertical sling it’s phenomenal and fits my iPhone 15 pro max, battery bank, air pods, 5 cards, pocket knife, pen, chapstick, house keys and car key fob and there’s still extra room. But I don’t carry any bulky items really, besides my iPhone with a case and my AirPods in their case.

Love the energy in this one! Just saw a comment about using it for the beach. Seems perfect for that.

nice review. can you compare it to alpaka modular phone sling?

I have this item…yet to use it though. It’s actually the third of my actual Phone slings. Have one from YNOT…but that clips to the backpack only. I started using the ALPAKA Phone sling on a recent trip and loved it. I think the Sympl one improves on that IF you need just a little bit more space. Shall see which I end up using more at this point.

I have a no-name pouch of the same size that doesn't have a carry strap, only two MOLLE style fabric straps with beefy metal clips to wear on a belt, it's much better than the magnetic solution here. Like, to be fair they don't advertise it as a belt pouch but my pouch would also be much more securely attached to a backpack strap. I wouldn't trust the Sympl pouch in this configuration to be honest, though as a vertical pouch it's kinda neat.

What I'd really like to do with this-- or the Alpaka phone/ modular slings-- is use the loops at the top to attach it to my belt. Does anyone know of any kind of clip, carabiner, buckle, anything that could help convert one of these pouches into a phone holster?

Using this for the beach this year since I am not carrying jack in my pockets.

Functions more like a backpack shoulder strap pouch with it's capacity and size.. Phone, cards & work pass, keys, mini wallet, earbuds, pens, mini note books or passport and tissues wipe. Own using opinion from similar pouch design like the alpaka modular pouch.. I prefer the phone compartment to do without the card slots separator for bigger space allowing easier access of the phone in and out of the pouch. The rest of the separator dividers opposite the phone storage compartments are ideal for my work pass id cards, mini wallets, passport, mini note book & pen and tissues wipe. 😂

For this very small size the belt style carry sorta works, feels like it should be attached to a backpack shoulder strap or somthing, like a phone holster. I like shoulder/crossbody if the bag is sorta bigger, but if its small like this feels like sling or fanny type form factor works better. Maybe if you have a giant heavy phone and your elastic drawstring shorts cant hold the weight in its pockets.

I like it but only want one pouch. Best recommendation for a pouch that will hold an Ipad Mini 6?

Great review! Could you design one with an anti-slash sling (like Pacsafe?), replace that magnetic buckle with something safer and add MOLLE to the rear for attaching to other generic things?

This is afaux- leather version of the Topo Mini Shoulder bag with magnets. I like the Topo bag more because of price, colors, and outside zippered pocket.

Can you put one of the straps on the top and one on the side to make it more of a chest sling bag?

Just realized you and Marissa talk... exactly the same 🙂 It's the same "melody", accenting the words the same way, even the body language. Man, I have a sister but we're..totally different haha. Just sayin', you guys are great both of ya. Of course I'm a bag nerd and I watch many related YT channels, but your recommendations of alternative buys in every review is truly golden. Keep it up!

Any experience of how water proof it is? Thinking of getting one for Songkran in Thailand where youre constantly drenched with water pistols and buckets of ice water.

I would like a wee pouch to strap to backpack strap for a phone when out and about on holiday and need to carry more than a sling. I would not want a sling and a backpack when out and about for the day. This seems a bit too big for that though

Feels like statically speaking, for some reason I think putting the phone on a bag makes it more likely to get stolen or lost than you always holding it all the time or using a phone lanyard or even putting it on your pocket at least in my own experience. I only lost 1 phone in my life and it was stolen in my bag from there on I almost don't put my phone in any bag anymore lol. Well this will be great as a pocket alternative just I will not put my phone in it. Will it fit a compact umbrella though?

Hey Aaron have you review the Matador Speed Stash and the Alpaka Modular Sling? I'm currently considering the Sympl as well as the mentioned to strap on my CTB26 to store my phone (Samsung S23 Ultra), wallet, watch, passport and other quick access items during customs inspection. Let me know your thoughts dude. Gracias amigo
