I recently fed a wild bird that my cat brought home and I hand fed the bird with an eye dropper at the front of the beak. I ended up taking the very young bird to the local bird rescue people and she said, when feeding young wild birds, to go in at the SIDE of the beak when feeding. If you feed at the front, the bird MIGHT….go into respiration distress. So you must feed small amounts. They cannot inhale and exhale while eating food.
