I'd say Bret always seemed (after all, I am just a fan, not a wrestler) more technically sound and "real", with such smooth transitions between traditional amateur wrestling holds and locks, while Shawn always seemed more flamboyant and exciting, with his more showy and feast or famine spots. Either way, they are my two favorite wrestlers, just edging out guys like Ricky Steamboat, Kurt Angle, Greg Valentine, Rey Mysterio Jr, Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam, Roddy Piper.

Bret had the more realistic matches, whereas Shawn had the more heart stopping moments. Both were the best at what they did. It's kind of like comparing a Ferrari with a Lamborghini. Both are awesome and you are lucky to have either one.

People are always trying to compare who was the better worker but unfortunately those arguments overlooks the amazing matches they had and the even greater ones they could have had if things hadn't soured between them. That Iron-man match at Mania is still one of my favourites and during the peak of their rivalry the tension was palpable and added to the story and matches. I've always looked at both as the yin and yang of wrestling. Great on their own, but magic together.

I love both HBK & Bret. Bret is most definitely my all time favorite with HBK & SCSA tied for 2nd. Both Bret & Shawn are the two greatest pro wrestlers in ring wise. I don’t care how many stars Misawa & Kobayshi had, they don’t hold a candle to Bret & Shawn in my opinion. AJPW guys were great but I can’t watch their matches over & over like Bret & Shawn.
