The "filthy rags" quote from Isaiah 64:6 is used to prove we can do no righteousness pleasing to God. However, the quote is used for a point which in context is 100% refuted. See my 3 videos on that issue.

2. How Isaiah 64:6 is Misused Out of Context. Ep 2 of Most Evil Out of Context Misuse of the Bible 14 minutes.

3. Misuse of Isa 64:6 to Justify Imputed Righteousness of Christ w/o Works of Repentance vs. Matt 5:21 Ep. 3

We have more videos that discuss the topic as well, which you can find at our Airtable topic "Filthy Rags" at this URL:

Very true. Context is key. Our Heavenly Father isn’t an unfair being. We just have to follow His ways!!! When we take matters into our own hands on how we live then we are bound to judgement of those DEEDS! Thanks Doug!

If we repent then HE cast our sins in the sea of forgetfulness

It all depends on WHO wrote the particular book of the Bible. There were various writers and each one wrote according to THEIR view on "God's " will. For example, PAUL had an entirely DIFFERENT idea of Christianity than the actual Apostles. Paul never even MET Jesus, and yet HIS version of Christianity is the base for most of Christianity's beliefs. Also, the Bible has been translated multiple times over the centuries but Koine Greek was the language it was ORIGINALLY translated into. Their Church Father decided WHAT should be included, excluded etc and translated according to THEIR opinions. ALL our present day editions-which include ALL the English versions are derived from the Greek version.

The key word is "our" and what man considers righteousness versus what "HE" (YHWH) considers righteousness.

I see it as how man, or corrupted clergy, has taken scripture out of context.

You are using critical thinking, which many/most do not. 👍
