Makes sense. This snapshot changed the unextended pistons to be solid blocks so they don't let light through. They thereby accidentally also made it conduct redstone like the other solid blocks.

Same. It does a lot more bad than it does good.

(we secretly changed piston behavior, now wait players to discov-)
0.00772 femtosecond later : *ilmango* : i see what are you doing

If the piston head acted as an insulator both ways this would be great.
So no powering the piston from the block in-front
and no powering pushed blocks just by powering the piston

You didn't actually provide the examples of what would break with this mechanic.

If the piston stopped being able to be powered from the front - will it still be so game-breaking? If so - could you maybe show us what exactly is broken (like an existing redstone contraption, that does not rely on inability of pistons being powered from the front, but relies on them not conducting redstone current)?

New piston type added. Conductive pistons. Just craft a normal piston with a redstone on the side to make.

Woah woah woah woah.
You just made the smallest Useless Machine ever. Just two blocks (a lever and a piston) and no redstone whatsoever!

I actually think this should become a mechanic. Redstone didn't have new features in a while and this doesn't really break anything unless you really tried. But by then it'd break on your intention. Monostable circuits with that supershort pulse can now be ever so slightly smaller with this, allowing redstoners to compact their contraptions that still use it even more.

I think that because the piston is a solid block, when powered from the front, the block space it’s in gets powered, making the piston itself powered too, overriding the check saying it’s not powered.

this was clearly mojang trying to remove hidden light sources from the game. why can't they just leave these things in the game instead of trying to remove it by make it even more laggy?

Hey ilmango I just spent 8 hours trying to build and fix your universal tree farm from 1.11, and I'm not sure if I built it wrong or if it just doesn't work in 1.13.2. so of you could check it out and see if you can fix it or not would be awesome cause I really like that farm and I think when it works is amazing. Tank you

i had a ilmango video in my feed it would not play and now its gone?

Not a bad idea, actually. This could simplify mob grinders!

Wait, does this make a pulse shorter than a 0-tick? That's incredible.

What is your opinion on the new textures?

The only thing I don't like about the bug is the piston powering itself

rdwhite

So it's a bug, but only certain aspects of the need to taken away and it could become a feature?

Mojang actually didn't ruin pistons!

IS THIS REAL LIFE?!!
