Trafalgar Square - What You Need to Know / London Places

Trafalgar square is not just a square in the eyes of Londoners. This is the place where people were gathering around when England has won something big - like a war or a World cup. As you can imagine the square hasn't been used for that purpose for a while ;-)
The place is literally in the center of the city and offers you a free visit to The National Gallery which is on the square itself. Just a short walk from the square can lead you to Leicester Square, Covent Garden, The National Portrait Gallery, Charring Cross train station, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and even the Buckingham Palace. St. James's Park and Green Park are also not very far away.

It's such an amazing thing that you can stand in one place and spin around and so much iconic stuff is nearby: Big Ben, Admiralty Arch, Trafalgar Square, the river... I love that. Nice to show the site of the Eleanor Cross too, as I didn't realise it was exactly there.
