Check out succession planting in action!

We have a cauliflower plant that's just been harvested. This was planted all the way back in October.

Then we have another plant that was started from seed in November, and it's just about ready to harvest.

In another part of the garden, we have some that were started in December, and they still have a bit of time until they'll be ready.

Surprisingly, I have only recently realized this since I haven't planted veggies. But I plan to this year. I've heard it referred to as "stagger planting" but it's the same thing. It certainly makes sense. 😎👍🏻🌱

I know you just did a video on this lol but this made succession planting much easier to understand for me 😅 thank you!

Doing that with my maize now, the sun has shifted a few degrees North giving me some reprieve from the Mid-summer Afternoon sun. I don't even think we had a winter last year. Getting my glass gem, then I have white maize next. In Africa, the black tribes like the white maize more. It tastes WAY better than yellow maize and we have been growing it for centuries. Planting my third generation seed soon. I don't water them and I am mixing glass gem and normal white. We used to have our own large multicolor maize that has disappeared. I am trying to breed it again from scratch and I have had some success.

yes you can stagger one veggie in different spaces but succession also means you can plant another crop in the same bed of a crop almost going to be harvested in between as it is small and as it gets bigger the older crop gets harvested so you have a succession in the same bed that you can keep growing while harvesting...

I'll be using this method for radishes and green onions this year. The zone 8 Texas heat is very relentless and unforgiving here. I hoping for success with some 5 gallon wicking buckets. 😎👍🏻🌱
