Hey brother just installed a diesel heater in the shop for my grandpa as I've seen him shiver 1 too many times.... it had a sweet aluminium case not plastic... made me feel safer...

You keep coming up with great information for us!
Tonight I got my (second) Thermo Top C (Rover 75) running a full cycle after freeing up the water pump, it was jammed by coolant sludge.
The other unit I have is a Range Rover L322 unit of the same vintage but looks absolutely mint.
Bit of digging, doesn't look like the W-bus controller would be compatible with that unit.
One of the units is going in my car, the other will eventually be running some radiators at the container workshop.
At the moment, a mix and match is likely with the Rover75 ECU fitted to the Range Rover unit for the car.
Seems I might be best off getting a TT-V and this controller for use in the workshop, leaving the TT-C for a spare just now.

Great to see this adapter works as iv got a similar item (early version) but not fired it up yet. On another subject you mentioned, Robinson Labs controller, I have one that has been installed for around 6 months to monitor a Top-C retro fitted to a Caddy van with the Hungarian ECU, but found the Robinson Labs Controller to be very buggy (W-bus Connection Lost), saying that when it dose come to life it can be a handy tool for monitoring, also the the W-bus to the WTT software worked well just like Robinson Labs stand-alone W-bus converter. My only suggestion would be to power it via a battery rather than a bench power supply, as I found unplugging a nearly fully charged phone from the cigarette lighter (high switching from the circuit) it came to life, this could have been a fluke though 🤷‍♂️.
Thank you for your videos buddy.
NOTE: The combination of the Hungarian controller and/or Robinson Labs controller emit a fair bit of EMF through the W-bus and mosfets, literally wipes out most radio signals.

My A2 has an Auxilliary heater which heats the engine up faster when it’s running. There is an option to have it as a parking heater and the difference is a remote control, the water pump and a controller which runs the cabin fans without the engine running. 😁👍

Perhaps auxiliary or parking, means whether it has an output for the water pump?
Or perhaps auxiliary heats up to warm the engine and then stays turned off. And parking restarts if the temperature drops to far to allow to have heat for the cabin fan.

Thanks very much for another informative video!

I'm running the little black Hungarian box with a 4KW Thermotop Evo in my car, and one thing I've noticed is that it sets a "W-bus communications error" everytime it runs the heater, and the heater turns itself off after 60 minutes of runtime - I then have to remove the "startsignal" to the black box, and start it again to run for another max. 60 minutes.
I have been in touch with the seller, who says the problem's with my heater, buuut I kinda doubt that... - I would be very interested to hear if your heater is able to run for more than 60 minutes, and if it logs a W-bus comm. error (I know it's a tall order, so completely understand if you don't have time to find out ;)
BTW, regarding the parking vs. aux. heater: when I configure the jumper to "Aux" the heater turns on/runs, but it doesn't trigger the fan relay or run the circulation pump :)

Best regards from Denmark, Chris

They’re not selling it on the shop Ava so I don’t know whether there is some bugs in it

David do you know about Robinsons labs that do reprogramming and make strong circuit boards that don’t break down like the webastro one and all the agro of getting them to work.

Hi David. I'm going to give this a try too. Are you using a genuine webasto fuel pump? The original ones are horrendously expensive

Hello David.
Have been on Robinson's web site and it does say that drivers need to be downloaded to it prior to use.
Have you ever thought of trying to use a Chinese heater controller to fire up a webasto Thermo Top

Hi David great video. I've just got a Thermotop V from a Rang Rover but ive read they need a special fuel pump DP41 that has some sort of feedback with a solenoid valve built into the TTV. Do you know if your aliexpress pump had this? Could u post up a link for us all as genuine are SO expensive and even less common here in Ozland.

The version 1.4 needs a program for it to work. Don t know if you noticed it on there website.

HI. Excuse me but I'm going crazy getting my webasto thermo top v to work, as long as I'm missing a wiring diagram. So without a w bus, the heater doesn't work? Does simple connections not start? I use it to heat hot water for a radiator in my garage. Could you help me with the 8 pin connections? Thank you

can you give the source of the fuel pump? also, is the water pump on the bench doing the water pumping or is it built into the webasto v? thanks
