This song I feel was sent to me. I was married to the most remarkable man for 27 years and then he passed. I never found someone to take his place that was 17 years ago. Now I am dealing with breast cancer and preparing for surgery in January. This song .... these are the words he would be saying to if he were here. I just love this song, it fills me with hope that my surgery will be successful and I will have more time here on earth with 2 great grand children on the way in 2016, I now have 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, he lived long enough to be here when the first 2 grand daughters were born. This song makes me feel like he is telling me that I will survive this and that I should hold on forever to my memories of him, but to keep going strong for our family.

My mother and father were married for 52 years. As a child of the 40s/50s, my father was very particular about his choice of music. He seen Rob sing this on a show and immediately liked it. My brother is in a local Dayton, Ohio band and my dad suggested he sing this in his set. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and for 2 years fought a good fight. My brother learned this song and dedicated it to him. On June 23, 2016 at 11:40pm in my mothers living room my father laid in a hospital bed fighting for his life. The last couple days were a painful struggle. Everything was quite with my whole family gathered round. My brother started playing this song, Robs song. And just like that, he went, quietly. There was no more pain or suffering. I have the words "Hold on Forever " tattooed on my arm in honor of that night and I hope that one day I can not only show Rob in person, but also thank him.

I have always felt that I could relate to whatever Rob is singing about. As I teen my mom battled Cancer. Rob writes 3am. Battling Autoimmune diseases find out Rob wrote songs about his wife's battles with Autoimmune diseases. Thank you Rob Thomas for helping the rest of us through some of our toughest days and so perfectly putting what a lot of feel into words.
