Commented video regarding the need for in-mission hydration while in heavy protective equipment and a possible solution.

Since dehydration inside the hermetically sealed Zodiak suit is an issue to any operator, a carry-on hydration pack is an important piece of equipment to allow an extension of operation time in a contaminated patrol area. Dehydration is intensified by the human body sweating inside the protective butyl liner preventing any cooling or ventilation. Since the sweat accumulating inside the suit can’t be used for hydration, an external liquid supply is necessary. This of course has to be provided in a CBRN safe manner without breaking the lifesaving seals of the Zodiak equipment.

This video presents a solution for liquid supply from a carry-on reservoir while operating in the German Zodiak protective suit.

Attention! Procedures applied in this video will need further improvement and training to eliminate still existing risks of contamination - for example to the connector's tip.
