Good grief. Sweet. I caught on to Cannonball, Art Blakey and many others as a teen back in 1959. Thanks to my Uncle Herbert, for that exposure. He had a fantastic jazz collection. I'd listen to his albums, while doing homework. Over the decades since then, I have acquired several of Cannonball's albums, but this is one I've never heard or have. The music, the musicians( who are no longer with us) live on in recordings such as this.

One of cannonballs best recordings - swinging, inspired, optimistic.

I play the alto sax. Though technically it is beautifully simple where I had no problem sight reading it (including things can't be written down on a staff)...this tune is on an emotional level that only a few other tunes are at. Yardbird "Cool Blues"
(R. P.), "Parker's Mood" and Trane on "Blue Train/Trane". These tunes have nothing but Soul in them.
