I love the way that after seeing the dramatic writing and chip eating from Light they then show us the perspective of the police officers and it looks nothing like what we just witnessed. It looks like Light is just sitting there nonchalant but we know that he's actually killing people. To me this shows how Light sees himself and his actions as godly but ask anybody else and that's just a boy doing his homework.

You have to remember that kira is an extreme narcissist. He wants to be found, get close to L, and defeat his rival. The first part of the show makes it very obvious that any amount of restraint from Light would have made him impossible to find. The show is similar to the invisible man on how anonymity can bring out the worst in the worst people.

i always thought that light was too prideful to even act dumb. i watch a lot of murder documentaries and usually with killers who display signs of narcissism tend to leave trails or hints to (not necessarily to point to them) but rather to their existence. so light sharing his real thoughts about the ICPO is akin to him boasting that he shares the same intelligence as kira. he wanted to show off to L. and since there is no incriminating evidence to sus him out he didn't fear he'll be suspected for it.

This whole potato chips scene is a real writer’s mood when the inspiration strikes, from the evil giggle to the dramatic bites 😂 pretty sure it even became a meme (I saw it several times)

Light being too smart for the cameras and his father but L who doesn’t buy his act at all—it all felt like the opening of the Moriarty versus Sherlock Holmes waltz! And also, the inspector Yagami is admirable for being so cold-headed in this cruel position.
The next episodes are absolutely lit, they’re definitely my first favorites of the show.

Light said that about the broadcast cause he didn’t want to seem overly cautious/too perfect + Light saying that stayed true to his smart & critical character (which is why L even complimented Light for being smart after his comment)
