A fresh vision for NCD prevention: A BBC Storyworks Documentary

Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the number 1 cause of death worldwide and most of these deaths are connected to behaviours or habits that we develop in our youth. In this BBC Storyworks documentary, young global health leaders Edith Soria (Mexico), Mary Mogama (Kenya) and Ferdinant Mbiydzenyuy (Cameroon) gather at One Young World, the preeminent global summit for young leaders, to talk about the work they are doing to change the health outcomes of the young people they work with. They offer a fresh vision on NCDs and they are each driven forward for different reasons. From Ferdinant’s loss of a dear Aunt to diabetes, to Edith’s commitment to ensuring local, healthy ingredients are used in orphanages, to Mary’s passion for putting youth at the centre of her outreach in Kenya.
