Resident from Maine wins the second largest Mega Millions lottery jackpot

A resident from Maine in the United States has won the second largest Mega Millions lottery jackpot in history of $1.9 billion.

The win has put a spotlight on the small rural community of Lebanon, in Maine.

Maine lottery director Gregg Mineo says the winner has 12 months to come forward to their Augusta office.

The ticket holder can choose to keep their identity a secret.

A website gives you the breakdown. If you take lump sum in Maine it is about 404 million dollars after lump sum payout minus state and federal taxes. It us more if you take annuity paid over 30 years.
