I burned through 3 Backbone Ones during the last 2 years. Same issue - Right controller drift, erratic buttons autoplay. Backbone had done a good job replacing the units. I switched to GS G8 since USBC on iPhone. Great controller!

nice video here's what i do to play cod mobile on android with my gamesir x2 pro/g8 without mapping buttons codm only supports backbone-ps4-ps5-xbox wireless controllers what i do is connect my xbox wireless controller to my android via bluetooth once connected i then connect my android to either my gamesir x2 pro/g8 after starting the game you will get a controller type pop-up just choose xbox and you are good to go basically the gamesir controller is mimicking an xbox wireless controller and whenever you go in to codm controller settings you will see that your gamesir controller is connected this method only works on android since the iphone doesn't have this problem

Technically speaking no one is preparing their game exclusively to the Backbone. They are preparing it for a general controller protocol. Gamesir G8 has one big omission here - it doesn't have XInput, it is one popular protocol based on a xbox controller. Other one is DInput, is from a dualshock controller, which Gamesir G8 has as a main protocol. That's why it is not working in Call of Duty and some other games natively. Not because it is not some brand the Backbone.

In general I haven't had two controllers myself, I have only G8 and I am satisfied. For me comfort is more important than portability. For me only problem though is that G8 is twice as heavy compared to Backbone. As for comfort, based on what I've seen, backbone is like Nintendo switch, which is not best experience. Adding that backbone is more expensive, and that's why I prefer G8. Although I see author's point of view and understand his opinion.

I honestly want to love the Backbone more than my G8 (which I honestly but painfully do) because of the portability and comfort. But I’ve had 3 Backbone gen 2 controllers fail in the last 6 months where the left side would just stop working. I heard it’s a manufacturing issue with the ribbon cable.

you just didn't map the buttons correctly. user error isn't a valid criticism of the device

No idea why cod mobile intentionally does this especially since on ios you can use whatever controller you like . It's work around to use g8 without mapping but if it just worked like backbone that would be ideal but that's kind of cod mobile fault not the controller

is it sponsored?
no offense but you might be the first person who prefers the backbone one.
the backbone app you are talking about it's a paid one you'll get it for free only for one year.
for only call of duty game, you are preferring to backbone 🤣

i just ordered the gamesir, i had my backbone for 2 months and the L2 trigger gut stuck, nothing helped. im gonna see if the Gamesir is really better or at least as good as the backbone, i dont care for CoD, i play Yuzu switch emulator, aetherSX2 for PS2 emulation and so on, the backbone worked there without configuration

Gamesir >>>> backbone has bad input lag / stick drift / deadzone issues

I cant thank you enough for the actual proper review of a product.
I unfortunately, already spent the mula on a G8.. However, because of your review literally giving me the info I needed, probably should have looked for this before purchase, I am just going to fork out the cost for the backbone.
I use Xbox controllers, and they are wicked nice to play cod and other similar games, but trying to prop the phone up and find comfortable seating positions is how I found myself on this slightly expensive endeavor 😂

The Gamesir G8 excels in all aspects when compared to the Backbone One 2nd Gen. Its superior design, wider compatibility, advanced features, and flexible connectivity options make it the preferred choice for gamers seeking a high-quality mobile gaming controller.

Are the more games for Backbone than for Gamesir? I have Gamesir G8 for my iPhone 15 but a lot of games dont work, most of all "FC Mobile" (EA Sports) which is sad :/ Will there be updates? thanks

I have the g8+ and the backbone (2nd gen). The g8+ imo is the superior option. It's Bluetooth connectivity allows me to use it with a larger range of devices, and the slide fit is more secure than the bb.

Do you need a subscription with the backbone?

I would rather have full controller sticks than switch style sticks. And I NEED back buttons. Gamesir wins for me

When you talk about portability, both of them are small enough to fit in your backpack, for example. The difference of 2 or 3 cm in portability is not a very strong argument, in my opinion, but thank you for the video.

On the GameSir G8 Galileo Mobile Gaming Controller, can you play your xbox games with remote play on it, without having gamepass?

Is there any G8 users out there with the Xbox buttons, will it show the letter glyphs in game or the shapes? Can you change it? I saw a thread they all default too Shapes and cannot be changed
