It's really surprising just how automated the MD-11 is. The descents are even more automated than Airbus because you don't have to select altitudes, just scroll to them!

Did I miss something... wasn't your final cruising altitude supposed to be FL350? When you came back for the approach, I saw FL330 displayed on the flight control panel and Hold 33000 on the flight display. Beside this observation, thanks again for your informative MD-11 videos; they are convincing me to take the financial plunge and pick up this aircraft.

MD-11 Tech here, 1. bulk cargo door is electric open/close. that's a game design error (needing HYD press) 2. all the EAD alerts for cargo doors open with engines off are only displayed on the "MISC" SD page. 3. with APU PNEU off, engine not starting and fuel control switch off. "eng IGN not armed" alert is inhibited. that's just to name a few technical errors 😅

I really wanted to love this plane. The engine simulation and nearly nonexistent APU sim ruin it for me tbh. 'send plan to fmc' is also deeply immersion shattering. the rotate md is much better in these regards-but falls short in texturing compared to the tfdi. it's ok for casual simming, i suppose. if you aren't particularly concerned by the numbers

It is the plane I have flown the most. I just took a flight now and since the TOD the autopilot kept disconnecting all the time. An annoying thing. Has this happened to you and if so, what can I do?

Also, when I try to use the reverse on my Saitek X52, it only opens the middle one. How do I set them up so that they all work normally?

Why so many planes have so many bugs with the system. Seems like the vnav is terrible in this aircraft, same with the lnav when you tried to enter the direct with inbound course.

Inibuilds aircraft are exactly like this as well, potential but just not really there if you examine what the aircraft is actually telling you or what it’s trying to do. It’s always the case of having to babysit it the whole time and constantly correct its mistakes.
