Yes, thank you are mentioning how someone just not buying coffee isn't going to make them rich. Its about balance. Cutting off everything that makes life enjoyable is probably going to negatively affect you and not be sustainable. A 5 dollar coffee here and there is fine. Eating out, spending 30 a day on takeout, probably isn't. There's a big difference.

These are all spot on! If you budget your money well (I use the zero-based system) then it’ll be much easier to spend guilt-free. Managing your finances is all about balance, everyone’s journey/needs are different- something that I’m now beginning to understand for myself.

Canceling older credit cards is never a good idea. It Takes way the longevity on the card, but also the credit limit availability. If you have 10k of available credit on it, the percentage of your available credit to (other) debt ratio will sink. The FICO score will follow. Not a good place to be. Use it once every 6 months on something small and pay it off. The card needs some activity to stay open.

#1 is so true. I hate seeing people getting all excited about day trading when it’s basically just another form of playing the lottery. They get sucked in by these “gurus” that sell it as the way rich people made their money. Without telling the full story.

I knew a guy who showed up to work everyday on time at 5:00am. Tried working his butt up the corporate ladder to get as much money as possible. Had all the respect of his fellow workers. He Found out he had cancer. He never spoke to his coworkers and just left the job. Spent 3 months in solitude with his loved ones then passed away. I bet he would trade all his money he slaved away for just to see his family one last time.

Savings of 1825$ a year from not drinking coffee is not bad. Put that down as an additional principal payment and depending on how long you have left on your mortgage could literally save you 10000+ in interest payments
