Jail life sentenced is 2 years subtract 1day. Plus your waiting for your court day so you can be sentenced.. Prison is when you up state for a 2 years or more sentenced. That's how it is in PA

The only difference is that jail is for shorter stints and prison is for longer stints. The both are correctional facilities that house and contain inmates.

There’s a difference in prison. Did you go to a Federal Correctional Institution (FCI). Or did you go to a United States Penitentiary(USP). Theirs a huge difference. If you went to a USP you had a more serious crime.
