How much power does it take to heat and maintain a hottub?

I own a 2-person 170 gallon tub. I change my water every 14 months. Actually there is a way to treat the water and remove that slimy scum-it's called using a product Ahh-Some. This hot tub cleansing product is used throughout hospitals to clean up after birthing procedures, that alone ought to tell you something about the sanitary benefits of Ahh-Some.

You shouldn’t get the lids to the chemical lids wet and then put them back on

Simple change: Heat up tub then turn off. Put garden hose from spring into bottom and turn on. Place empty garden house 6" below surface and start a siphon. With a little practice you'll get a balance. Cold on botton slowly rises as hot on top leaves throw second hose. With free spring water you can "change" your hot tub very frequently without draining it. Give it a try and give the water the "skin feel test." Fresh is Best !

Should always run jet cleaner before you drain it.

Too bad retaining wall brick is so expensive that would fix your water problem to build a retaining wall down there and redirect your water to the side of the house. Over towards your car and maybe towards the creek if it's over there
