A nuclear weapon[a] is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission (fission bomb) or a combination of fission and fusion reactions (thermonuclear bomb), producing a nuclear explosion. Both bomb types release large quantities of energy from relatively small amounts of matter. (The Atomic Bomb. Scale and Chances of Survival - Nuclear Weapons in 2023.)

To say that the Sun is 'continuously exploding' is in fact highly misleading. Steady-state fusion in the core of the sun is a very different animal to fusion in a hydrogen bomb. The former is a result of the steady conversion of gravitational energy into heat in a continuous process more akin to a fire burning; Thermonuclear bombs, on the other hand, are designed to ensure that both fission and fusion reactions proceed as 'run away' phenomena. This results in bomb core temperatures and pressures VERY much higher than those in the centre of the sun.

The narrator had that..”I have a particular set of skills” kind of voice.

Talk about redundancy in the narration. The writer needs to take a breath.

You might want to ask yourself a bigger question, "would you want to survive?" Even if you live way out in sticks and survive the detonation of many nukes, you still have fallout to deal with. Fallout falls west to east mostly, but you have swirls and eddies that spin in other directions. It pretty much comes down to meteorological conditions moments before the attack but for the most part look on your map and look to the west of your location. If you are within 500 miles of a target, you will get a massive fallout cloud. There's the Rule of 7s to think about, essentially 2 weeks and 2 days for radiation to reduce enough to move around from building to building without taking in deadly amounts of radiation. This is for those that were stuck at work and couldn't get home. The problem is even in a perfect prepper, you will run out food. You are looking at about 20 years before the nuclear winter subsides enough to grow any sort of crops. So unless you have a warehouse full of food for a family of 4 to last about 20 years, including water, you will starve and die of thirst.

Is it me or did this narrator say the samething twice?

If a 15 megaton detonates, you better be further than three kilometers. In the even of a major exchange? Can expect multiple nuclear bombs to explode on or near their intended targets.

Fascinating and terrifying.
Great video.

"It would seem that even soft but moving at the speed of light radiation should leave far behind the substance that generated it, but it is not so. In cold air, the run of quanta is centimeters, and they move not in a straight line, and changing the direction of motion at each interaction of motion at each interaction a quanta ionize the air, spreading in it like cherry juice poured into a glass of water. "

Good writing....

Heaven forbid because Tsiar bomba test was first because they were proposing to do an even bigger test with 100 megaton weapon.

Good job; Dr. Oppenheimer would approve...

If by chance your unfortunate enough to be near a 1+ megaton detonation, all those numbers go out the window; including the window, but most weapons are around 300+ Kiloton warheads, so you should be ok....🙄

150, 000, 000° farienhieght, a thermonuclear bomb is a man-made star upon the earth.

To be honest I would rather be one of those vapourised in the explosion because let's be honest who knows how to live off the land anymore at least it's quick
