Being the youngest mvp gets you in. Tmac is in the hall...for what? 0 mvps.. 0 rookie of year...just 1 more all nba 1st team than Rose....WITH 0 PLAYOFF VICTORIES....till he rode the Spurs bench

Plus the basketball HOF is way easier to get in than MLB//NFL

Who cares? It's already diluted to the hall of very good.

I loved watching D-Rose in Chicago and New York as a Chicagoan, but I say no. Injuries hurt his case, and, even when healthy, he fell short of reaching 15, 000 career points and 5, 000 assists -- point guard career benchmarks.

Sadly, not enough All-NBA First Team selections -- just one and nothing lower in ranks -- for consistent greatness. Having 3 is a miracle. He was entertaining though.

NO. He is not.
BUT Chicago Bulls must put his jersey in the rafters.

Who cares about HOF. His mvp year alone was something that most of these hof's total careers together can't match. The impact he made and the fan base he has. Derrick is a Chicago legend. He is Chicago. Youngest MVP and no one could've f with him. What he expreienced with his body and all, his perseverance and mental strength. Waaay above any HOF debate. He won in life.

They let anyone in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Because of that, they will probably put him in..

I’m guessing he’ll eventually get in

But he won’t be a first ballot hofer probably gonna get in when the pool to choose from is a bit thin as there have been in the past where an yeah he’s alright got in as there’s not much other option

TELL ME HE’S NOT WORTHY OF THE HALL OF FAME. Best point guard of all time. I love Jordan but damn Rose is the man.. MUCH LOVE ROSE. D ROSE NATION. 💯😎

Very very borderline. He has nothing else except his MVP. No scoring titles, no Finals appearances, nothing. Even Bill Walton a guy who won MVP and didn't play much, at least had 2 rings and a FMVP too.

Stop it! He’s a no brainer HoFer. Yao Ming — never close to MVP caliber — is in HoF. DRose was the most exciting player in the league when Kobe, Lebron, DWade, Shaq, etc. were in their prime. He’s like the Gale Sayers of the NBA, ironically both from the Chi. They both shined so brightly in those early years before suffering devastating injuries. You can’t deny their greatness.

Dan Patrick can be very shady. Since when does vacated college wins influence a players NBA — or any pro league — legacy? He also said some garbage about Caitlyn Clark should be considered wnba mvp over Aja Wilson bc CC brought more fans to their league. For him to be around as long as he has, his views sometimes are asinine. Maybe he spews these controversial views for views, clicks, hot takes. I guess that’s what they all are after these days.

The Gale Sayers of the NBA, minis the comparison of the number of years played…I’m talking in terms of, what could’ve been if they never got hurt?? They were well on their way to being the best ever at their position…and it’s funny how you guys just mentioned Sayers because as I was typing this I did not know he’d be mentioned.

What I’m saying is, at their peak, they already had the talents of being the best ever at their position, injury or not..they possessed that much talent..so to me? He gets in the Basketbal HOF.

He probably will eventually. The Basketball Hall of Fame has always given a lot of credit to peak talent, especially if the short peak is due to injury (though they have come around even in cases where the career decline was due to drugs or other personality/character reasons). So it won't be immediately, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens 10-20 years down the line.

Giannis won the regular season MVP two seasons before he won the championship. Same thing with Jokic. So, unlike what Dan claimed, they didn't have massive post season success before they won MVP-awards.

He’s the youngest MVP in NBA history. One of the most popular players of all time. He gets in the Hall. I’d bet my right kneecap he gets in the HOF

Dan is tripping - he is one of the most transcendent players to ever lace them up. If you weren't in awe of Derrick Rose his first 4 years in the league then you don't know hoops. His injuries also occurred while the NBA was transitioning into being a 3 point contest league which further diminished his value and minutes with each passing year.

Grant Hill has a much better case for the hall than Rose. He did still make an all star team in Orlando after all of his major injuries, and at age 35-38 played almost every game of those seasons as a valuable roleplayer on a contender. Rose won't even play a game past age 35. And of course his college accomplishments were infinitely better. Grant has simply had a much better career.
