I've had one for 11 years. Most useful vehicle ever. Pulls our camper with people and stuff. Unlatch the seats and pull them out and carry full 4x8 sheet material in any weather. Still gets 30MPG on the highway.

I dreaded the thought of getting a mini-van when the kids started their sports. I quickly saw the benefits over SUV's, first and foremost for us was the sliding doors. We have a 2 car garage and with young kids I was worried about door dings. Our 2004 Sienna simply won't die. 205, 000 miles with only a flex pipe and strut replacements. Tons of memories of family trips and sporting events. I'm a fan of the van.

Fun fact: Chrysler created the minivan. Lee Iacocca convinced Congress to guarantee loans to Chrysler. When they asked him what the company would do different to keep from digging themselves deeper into the same hole, he showed them plans for the K-Line which included the Caravan built on the new K chassis which shared parts all across the line.
Edit: I was a parts guy at a mom/pop parts store. It was easy to stock parts for the entire K line because everything was common. It was nice to be able to have in stock 95+% for what the customer came in for.

Owned 2 of them in my young family days. They were the perfect vehicle for kids and all things kids. They both ran well with no problems or issues out on the road.

Yessir don’t sleep on them 😂 I was gifted a 99 Sienna CE with 140k mi, now it’s at 268 mi, I drive this thing everywhere road trips up and down the west coast, eastern Washington, Few people say I’m crazy but hey it gets the job donee. full tank it gives me 330-336 miles total range, zero issues so far. I this van.

All vans are awesome. They make great campers or shelter when needed, great in survival mode. I lived in my old 73 Chevy van for a year, however winter was rough because no matter how many blankets I put down on that steel floor board. I still was freezing.

But it was the safest place to be.

My 03 grand caravan can have a 4x8 lay flat. The mechanism is straightforward. Parts are cheap. We don’t drive it for daily commute. We use it for vacation or moving furnitures.

Totally agree! I owned two minivans over 10 years, and they were PERFECT for carrying loads of people or with the seats out, an enormous load of cargo. Perfect for a military family doing multiple cross country moves.

Love mini vans. They’re way more practical than most SUVs. Give me an all wheel drive hybrid Sienna with a 1.5” lift and I’ll be a happy camper.
