This is such a huge advise you've given. I hope people will take this one serious! Eqing will also help with getting that balance especially with things/sounds that have more than one band of sounds (low, mid, high) Hi Hat is usually one band (highs) and can get good results with just doing volume adjustments

Good reminder! Also important to consider if you hear the right things poking out, you don’t always need to take them down. That dynamic range might be intentional. Usually this is genre dependent as well but, just remember to do what sounds good if you can 🎉

All about persepctive. The more ways you can listen to it, whether its low volume, speakers, earphones, mobile, car, playing while you're in the shower, the more information you have to make decisions.

High frequencies will sound louder at lower volumes, and should based on the energy required to produce lower frequencies. So this tip could be dangerous taken out of context.

not only will you be causing different resonance in the studio and will be hearing more an more room sound
but you are also gonna hear a different balance the more you change in volume due to fletcher munson curve

so for example. things may stick out but this may just be due to the curve and not actual balance.

balance isn't a dynamic thing it's a tone thing. so you aren't really talking about balance but perceived loudness
