:De-dollarization" became a reality when the US slapped those sanctions on Russia. Everyone who was holding USDs figured: "Hey! This could be us...." And out of the dollar they went. Also why many countries are HOARDING metals right now? Cheers

You don't just "have" a reserve currency. You earn it by having a strong store of value - usually because the currency is redeemable in gold.

We have had this privilege for that reason. However since we abandoned gold the loss of that privilege has been inevitable.

Plus there is also Triffin's dilemma - whereby the nation with the reserve currency must issue enough of it for use as a world reserve currency. By so doing, that nation risks creating too much, which sows the very seeds of destruction.

I think they will do whatever it takes with our children to keep their reserve status. There's no morality in the way of their interest. We saw that in Vietnam. Iraq. Afghanistan. Syria. And numerous conflicts in South America funded by them and fought by our children.
