WILL IT BE VISHWAJIT VS PRATAPSINGH RANE AT PORIEM?

Everyone is focusing on Goa's political landscape with an Eye on Election. In what could be seen as a coincidence or a strange situation, the small poll-bound state could witness a modern-day Rane Revolt with Father Pratapsingh Rane and Son Vishwajit Rane locking horns to fight the poll battle from Poriem Constituency. Vishwajit feels this is not son versus father, rather a BJP versus Congress battle.

Vishwajit Rane is currently the BJP MLA from Valpoi constituency. He expressed his desire to state president Sadanand Shet Tanavade about plans to change his constituency to Poriem for the upcoming assembly elections. He feels that his father should gracefully resign after completing 50 years in politics, calling Congress a bankrupt party.

With the exit of Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco from the Congress, the current strength of the party in the assembly has reduced to two members. Rubbishing rumours of resigning and to strengthen the party, Pratapsingh Rane said that he would file his nomination as recommended by his supporters.

We must keep religion separate from politics, BJP has played with the sentiments of the people for far too long. However the people have woken up and now are reconsidering the political scenario in Goa. If corrective measures are not taken now, though at the eleventh hour, the fate of Goa is sealed. We need a strong opposition to withstand the government of the day. Father against son is an ugly situation, Hope wiser council will prevail.

There is no chance for BJP in Poriem. Even Manohar Parrikar tried his best by campaigning hard in Poriem against Pratapsinh Rane . Most of Parrikar well wishers and supporters of Poriem and Valpoi have joined TMC and AAP. Even BJP supporters are joining in Huge numbers in Valpoi in TMC. With MGP and Shivsena supporting Pratapsinh Rane and the Ranjeet Rane against BJP now the dynamics have changed in favour of Congress in Sanquelim, Poriem and Valpoi.
