This was the jam! Simple, clean. Nothing nasty. There was music for everyone and a lot of stuff crossed over. Dressing like your man/woman goes back to the 80s including airbrushed shirts and jeans. In the 90s we wore baggy jeans, tims, crop tops (just picture Aaliyah), Blossom type hats, baby doll dresses, thigh high socks, chunky heeled sandals, big pendants on necklaces, etc. We wore everything! Our hairstyles...not enough room to tell ya. Film, tv....the 90s were AWESOME!

Now, it's JUST about sex. 
Sex was totally in the old school jams, but there was an equal amount of songs about relationships, and arguments, and courting, and getting noticed by someone, and having a crush, and men crying. Dude in this video said writing a love letter was 'simping'. That's concerning. Expressing yourself outside of sex seems to be looked at as "feminine". That's weird.
