Thank you!!! This info saved my cornbread! I didn’t have baking powder and had already mixed most of the ingredients so there was no turning back. After watching this video. I added 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup butter milk to the other liquids and a tsp white vinegar and it came out perfect!!! Who knew???

I would also add that a good acid you could add to baking soda is cream of tartar. It doesn't impart any flavors like the acids he mentioned. It's available in nearly all grocery stores in the spice aisle.
