It has X in the name, so it's easily 50% faster

How does the surface pro X compare to the surface laptops and would you advice a programming (Computer Science) student picks one? How effective would it be in reality for compiling codes and doing some basic CAD works? Plus how optimised is WINDOWS on the SURFACE PRO-X for that QUALCOM chip aka SQ1-PROCESSOR

Really look forward to getting some answers. Thanks guys!

Performance is paramount for me.
I’m betting the Pro 7 with the latest intel i7 processor will smoke the Pro X in terms of raw power...not so much battery life.
Since I use my Surface Pro 2017 in the office or home, LTE is not a big deal. I’ll probably upgrade to the Pro 7.

Hearing the poor audio quality makes me think Adam was not available to go to the event, oh well, never mind

I don't get how people have issues with the magnetic pen on the side of a Surface... I've been using one for a long time and not once has it fallen off to the bottom of my bag. The bag & backpack I use have a dedicated laptop slot and I keep the clear of anything else, place it with the non pen side first and 100% of the time, without exception, I pull my Surface Book out and the pen is still stuck to it.

im still over here waiting for a Surface Pro with a discrete gpu and thinner bezels. had my surface pro 4 a while now and am about to go back to a more traditional laptop because i really want a gpu...such a shame, my surface has been great at most things

This thing is the future... but no headphone jack? I hope there's no audio lag with bluetooth headphones!

Disappointed Microsoft did not include a USB-A port. That's one of the features I LOVE about the Surface Pro 7. I have a couple of portable digital drives, not to mention my USB-A sticks, that I like to use with the Surface 7. They work beautifully. Now, I imagine I would have to use a dongle to convert my USB-A's into USB-C's. This sort of planned obsolescence is an Apple thing and I hate to see Microsoft moving too fast in this area. Lucky I bought the SP 7...and I like the ability to stick in a MicroSD card to expand my storage. The X does NOT turn me on. I love my SP 7.

Doesn’t support thunderbolt? :( for a person who uses wacom with usb-c thunderbolt.. Im turned off by this... ok if i cant use wacom. Now my 2nd question is does that pen support pressure .. sensitivity... 😭 I was excited at first. hoping gt some review from graphic line artist.

Can the existing Pro keyboard be used with the X?

Are they getting rid of the Surface Go? The Pro X looks like a supped up Surface Go. A better processor, & more ssd storage. One more thing, bigger price tag.

Why limit it's battery life by making the device thinner than necessary? The whole point of ARM is amazing battery life and they pared it back down to normal Surface Pro battery life

If it can't keep up with performances for the fragmented galaxy of Windows software, and given its lackluster battery life estimates, I'd skip this 1st gen

Great design, but people want some power too. Too bad the Surface Pro 7 didn't get a redesign.

Does they make the Type Cover better material?

So the X keyboard and pen won't work with the Pro 7?

Would you be able to tell from current specs if this is capable of running Matlab 2019b for engineering students? This is looking REALLY appealing!
