The colors match your apron. Eberron... I love it.

Only reason I came back to D&D after leaving it for other games and other systems was I heard that Eberron was coming back for 5th Edition. Far and away my favorite setting for the game, for a lot of the same reasons that you've laid out. One thing I am really pleased you stressed that a lot of people seem to overlook when they say it's "Steampunk" is that there is no steam, that while there is a comparable level of technology to your average Steampunk setting, it's all based on Magic instead of Science. Makes for a fascinating setting with lots of options for a DM (or player) to explore and enjoy.

Dinosaurs are always a reason for excitement :D
The language point is a refreshing change in a Setting. Maybe I will work that into my setting as well.

I'm really in love with the fact that monster races are a part of the culture and history. Always found the distinction between the humanoid races weird and arbitrary, so will check out ebberon!

I ignored Eberron for a long time for a bunch of reasons. Mostly because I hated everything that everyone else seemed to be in love with.

- The biggest trigger (for someone who mains Arcane casters, esp Wizard) was the idea of magic as a mass-produced consumer commodity; I hated taking something mysterious, rare and wondrous and turning into a one-on-every-street-corner thing. I want magic to be special and rare and it just doesn't seem like it is in Eberron. But I recently started putting together a campaign and I decided on this setting because my brother's #1 wishlist character is a dinosaur riding halfling (which is also a concept I hate), so I'm starting to just lean into all the things I said I hated about the setting (planes trains and automobiles; robots, dinosaurs, magic as common technology, an urban metropolitan focus, an overabundance of unnecessary playable races, progressive and modern sensibilities projected onto a medieval fantasy world ) and make them features in the campaign. Once you start digging deeper into Eberron there really is something for every DM and player.

I totally get the rant about travel!! Preaching to the choir!! This will be yet another setting I steal from my husband's book shelf! Thanks for another great video.

Correction for 11:52 Goblins didn't rule over Eberron. Goblinoids (Goblins, Bugbears, and Hobgoblins) ruled over the continent of *Khorvaire* not Eberron. Eberron is the planet. When Humans came from the continent of Sarlona, they found the Goblin cities and empires, going to war with them and ultimately winning and taking over. An Eberron where Goblins ruled over the planet would be very interesting seeing as there is an entire continent of Dragons.

Starting an Eberron campaign this Sunday, had session zero last weekend. I’ve never played in this setting, but I’m looking forward to getting to explore it!

I'm actually planning on running my first ever campaign as a dm on the Eberon setting. I will buy the book and plan a detailed and nice adventure. I absolutely adore the setting. I know I will be getting into deep waters right away, but I will give it a try for sure.

Expanding on the dinosaurs.... Halflings regularly use them as mounts instead of horses and such

Eberron is amazing, except the cover. There's so much amazing art in the 3.5 books. They had so much to select from.
