"... unless you troubleshoot for hours..." Ahh the voice of experience mehears.
Sadly this seems to be more and more prevalent as libraries, languages, and software in general become more abstracted. QT is a great example of this in and of itself. There is literally 1 error message for any failure (In fairness I understand the next major release of QT addresses this issue).
Most programmers like to believe that their code is bulletproof and don't spend 'too much' time providing feedback to the hacks that follow.
This usually means documentation and error messaging suffer, as does the poor schmuck that needs to use that critical library/feature/whatever later down the road.
