GIS Apps – Lab 3 – Isarithmic Maps of Paleoclimate Data – ArcGIS Pro

Показать описание
In this lab, we import a dataset of paleoclimate temperatures during the spring and summer months in Europe. The data spans 1400 years and is constructed from various proxies like tree rings, ice cores, and harvest dates. It represents anomalies above and below the 1961 -1990 temperature average. To test the accuracy of this temperature re-creation, we will map historical periods and see if the interpolated surfaces match expectations. For example, will the map of the Little Ice Age appear to be colder that the 20th Century average? What will the map of the Medieval Warm Period look like? We use the GIS Spline interpolator tool to create surfaces from points and explore the data. If you found this video helpful, please like and subscribe. Thanks.
