When the surf calms down and the water cleans up in Galveston, there’s no better place to catch speckled trout then at the beach! We headed out for a quick morning Wade fishing session in the surf, and I caught my limit of big speckled trout all on topwater lures before 7:00am. We topped it off by making some simple and delicious fish tacos for lunch with our fresh catch! Make sure to stay tuned for the catch and cook part of the video! Thanks for watching!

I think I saw you driving down the seawall about 3 weeks ago in your red truck with a Before Outdoors sticker on the back window. I had my kayak in the back of the truck. I love surf fishing for trout during the summer. I've been doing it for 30yrs.

I used to bank fish a lot for Steelhead in Washington and on more than one occasion as I was walking down the river bank I flipped my bait out behind guys who had waded 1/3 of the way across the river to fish the slot on the opposite bank and hooked fish behind them. Seeing the expression on their face as they turn around after hearing the fish jump or me yelling "Fish On!" was priceless. So making those casts as you wade out is very important.

You can wade to the 2nd bar and cast forward and backward, you cover more water like that.

Try putting an avocado in the blender with the sauce with about 4 pickle jalapeños for a little bite. 😮😮

BOI right here. Ball High class of 86'. What size bait caster are you using? I have a Penn Fathom 300 low profile high speed on a medium action rod. Thinking I should probably step up to a med-hev rod for that size reel. I really love the 300 reel as it fits good in my hands. Last wend. and thur. morning I hit up surfside and the water was pretty nice. Clear enough to see mullet in the rolling waves. There was bait fish jumping around and I was feeling confident I'd hook up something. A few years ago I started to get back into fishing. Iv'e never really done much artificial bait fishing but decided to try a popping cork with a vodoo shrimp rubbed with pro cure under it. Didn't get any bites at all. Maybe I needed to be out there on the water earlier as I was out in the surf about 10am. I also have some paddle tails now that I want to try. Keep up the good videos. Back in the day three decades ago...lol, after I turned 26y/o...my body said no more iodine for me, so Iv'e been nothing but catch and release since. That just leaves more for yall to catch and eat...lol

First gut. BEFORE sunrise. Black corkies or black touts ONLY. After the sun rises switch to your fav colors. You'll know because the bite on the black color will stop.
