Kg1000 was $70 less and had more bang per $$

As somebody who is brand new to using GMRS and radio in general, I really appreciate all of your videos. Even if it's something completely irrelevant to what I'm currently working with, I tend to pick up a thing or two in each video and it's nice to be able to watch something that wasn't recorded by a shaky phone on a kitchen counter.

I have both the Midland MXT500 (bought first) and the KG-1000G (bought second) because of Notarubicon’s bad influence on me. I like them both and the Midland is easier for the wife because it’s more simple but I prefer the more feature rich KG-1000G and it measures slightly higher power than the Midland.

Did I mention yet .I bought the UV-9G too, added a Nagoya antenna, and a base antenna for the house. This new hobby is getting expensive but not yet as expensive as ammo. Good video by the way

I don't understand why people hate you so much but still watch and comment on your fantastic videos!

Just bought the MXT500 and have been really liking it. I am still new to this GMRS world so maybe after more experience I may find I want something else but for now…it rocks

I have 2 Wouxon radios and love both. I studied both Midland and Wouxon and found Wouxon had more of what I wanted😎. I don’t hate Midland but Wouxon just out works them

Great video! I appreciate you taking the time to explain a bit about the companies and the radios. I've been sending new GMRS users here to help get info and this is exactly the type of information they need. Hat tip.

You make some of the best and stealth-ly wholesome content I've ever seen.

I don’t hate any of them. I just want a radio that works and will keep on working. I do own some Midland GMRS radios because I got them off Facebook for a STEAL. Thanks for the vid.

Good video, Thank you sir for holding them boxes up multiple times throughout the video, I nearly forgot what the video I was watching was about. Good video, I especially appreciate you reminding me what the video is about by holding up those boxes. As an American and a goldfish I thank you for this good video. My memory isn't so good anymore but luckily you reminded me multiple times what this video was about by showing those boxes. I need to find nemo. Good video sir.

I really appreciate this comparison. My group needs simplicity so this helps point me in the right direction.

Currently I use Wouxun KG-805G and KG-UV9G Pro for handheld use and Midland MXT275's in my vehicles. I plan on eventually getting the Wouxun KG-1000 for my base station. Also plan on upgrading my vehicle rig to the MXT575 when it comes out. Pretty much for the reasons described in the video. In a vehicle I want simplicity and when I'm going HT or basestation I want to be able to have more options.

I’ve only used and own Kenwood equipment, but of the two in your video I believe I would shy away from the Midland. My needs require repeater flexibility for not only the Phoenix Metro area but also repeaters along the route to the Midwest when I occasionally make that drive.

Both of these radios have their place in the GMRS community. And don't forget everyone, we are running Channel 19 as the GMRS Nationwide Travel Channel (NTC). Tell your friends and get the word out. Ch 19.

Thank you for clearing this up succinctly.

I own the MXT400 and it performs very well. However I’m about to pull the trigger on the KG-1000 because I travel across the US delivering RVs and I want to plug-in all of the link repeaters that I come across and utilize scan groups.

I appreciate your perspective and especially this video. I've recently started to self educate on the topic and trying to decide which radio to get - how much radio to get. I tend to snowball and think bigger and bigger as I go, but really, I'll mostly use the handheld in woods to communicate with hunting/fishing/camping buddies. I've had cheap radios over the years, but they all fail eventually. I assume now they were mostly FRS, though the last couple of pairs may have been GMRS even though I didn't know one from the other. That is, I recall the last pair claimed to have a 35 mile range or something. I figured, if it got 3 miles, I would be pretty happy. My boys have put 50W units in their pickup trucks and so I want to pick up something that will talk to them. They have the handhelds too.

Admittedly, after looking at so many radios, the frequencies, the bands, and who uses what, I really want one that sends and receives on all frequencies! But I don't know why.. I would almost never use it.

Anyway, I've recently watched a bunch of your videos and I appreciate the education. This one brought me back from thinking Midland made toys - probably because they sell them at Walmart. They seem to be more available and less expensive, and of course now I know a little more about what I am seeing when I look at one.
