I work for Royal Mail in the UK. I electronically process mail, both letters and parcels. The software I use for my job is owned and supplied by Lockheed Martin. I can't say what it does because of confidentiality, but Lockheed Martin software is used. And it's not great.

The S.L.A.M nuclear ramjet coors had a hand in was a proper doomsday weapon. An unshielded open cycle nuclear cruise missile with a dozen or so deployable thermonuclear bombs and the ability to irradiate and destroy anything under its flightpath due to its hypersonic shockwave hitting the ground and all the radioactive isotopes being ejected from the engine.
It could theoretically circle the earth 3 times before putting itself on a crash dive and causing a mini Chernobyl by having the reactor vaporize on impact.
Fleets of these things would criss cross the soviet union ejecting nukes and contaminating and wrecking anything in its path.
It was cancelled when icbms became more viable although its ground tracking systems were further developed for conventional cruise missiles.
Worryingly, Russia is developing a modern version of this thing but without the ability to drop nuclear mines.

I was never sure if the Lockhead Martin that make war vehicles were the same company worked with SEGA with the Model 2-3 Boards, which I believe was also in partnership SGI who made the computers that rendered early CGi.
