Commentator Caroline Di Russo says Optus’ crisis management following the data hack has been “absolutely terrible”.

“That ad in the newspaper was absolutely terrible – ‘we’re really sorry, we want to regain your trust’ – no … fix it first, we’ll talk trust later,” she told Sky News host Chris Smith.

No one arrested? No criminal charges? No one sacked? I cant even contact anyone at optus and yet they emailed me to say my info has been exposed. Lets hope for them to be sued into oblivion. Rsoles.

Optus has been dodgy from day one when the government let them open in Australia. They were allowed to open providing they matched the government's $ amount (I think $50mil at the time) in cabling. Optus then dragged their feet, became established, and paid a whopping $0.00

"Affected customers weren't notified" Probably because Optus use an overseas call center, and their customers wouldn't be able to tell if it was a scammer who called them in the first place.

Optus were given an exemption from security measures by the previous Communications Minister Paul Fletcher who was a former Optus employee.
