My grandmother had her leg amputated in the early 80s and she buried it in her future gravesite in my family's cemetery...she had a morbid sense of humor that I loved, she always used to say she already had one foot in the grave.

I love how she switches accents when she gets expressive

The thought of dying used to send me into panic attacks, but your channel has helped me accept and embrace the fact that life doesn't last forever. If you can be lighthearted and goofy, so can I!

I come back to this video all the time just to listen to Caitlin’s hit single: “Car Alarm in My Video.”

"Around Christmas we tend to get busier" that's a really sad implication...

My aunt had an accident that caused nerve damage so her arm was basically useless to her but there was nothing wrong with it. So when she decided to have it amputated for safety reasons, she asked them if there was anything useful they could do with it. She ended up being able to donate it to study which I think is pretty cool. It went to a medical college I think... I mean I know they'd prefer a full body but a free arm is still probably a fun educational tool.

So if I had to get my leg amputated and kept it in my house and got that phantom itch I could still scratch it....Right? 😉

I love how many people in the comments are amputees who are super disappointed they didn't get to keep their body parts 🤣

My Mom really wanted her uterus back after her hysterectomy so she could have a burial for it and her fertility in a mourning ritual. She wanted more children but her uterus was detaching and causing menstrual cycles so heavy she was experiencing anemia. The hospital refused to give it back to her no matter how much she pushed. It really upset her. I can understand, I guess, why they wouldn't give it to her but it still seems kind of sad to me. She wanted "better" for her uterus than to be incinerated with the other medical waste.

"You're the video now" has me rolling 😂 Your sense of humor keeps me going. But on a serious note, I have extreme fear of death, so much just even thinking the word or if someone says something jokingly about death it triggers severe anxiety that often times I just choke back as to not "let it get to me", and your videos have helped me a lot. I think being educated about this stuff is important in helping me understand my fears and while they're hard to watch for me, I feel I've come a long way. So thank you!

10/10 would have listened to that car alarm song religiously in the 80's.

It's October 2019 and I'm rewatching this video again because this presentation never gets old and I want to support Caitlin in as many ways as possible (including buying more of her books). <3

When I had my finger amputated 7 years ago, I had the hospital put it in formalin and return it to me to be buried when I die.

You are awesome! My brother Bobby passed away where he lived in Alaska. We had him cremated and sent home to Arizona. The postal lady was so gracious and sincere in her condolences.

I've dreamed of visiting Marilyn Monroe's grave since I was a small child. I know... how cliche of me, right? But a few weeks ago, I had a chance to do just that and it was seriously one of the most awe inspiring things I've ever done.

I just love your channel as a former cemetery director, this is very good information for people to view. Most people have a "Hollywood" version of what funerals really are, and how they are handled. Kudos to you for giving folks the cold hard truth...pun intended.

Can I get the “cremated remains” sticker without having cremated remains? I wanna send a box to a friend containing some fireplace ashes and a couple of chicken bones.
