1986 Honda CR250 Test Ride: This Bike is FUN!

Quick ride on my buddy John's pristine 1986 CR250. This bike is FUN!! The first year of the AMA Production Rule for National Motocross Championship and Honda made some big improvements to the CR250. The engine had an updated power valve called HPP (Honda Power Port) which provided a surprisingly broad and linear powerband that still feels good today. Next up was the cartridge damping system in the 43 mm conventional forks which provided a very plush ride. The seat was also cushy with lots of foam.

In 1986 Ricky Johnson rode the CR250 to the outdoor National Championship, David Bailey won the 500cc title on a CR500, and Johnny O'Mara won the 125cc title on a CR125. This past weekend Jett Lawrence won the 250cc AMA National Championship on a CRF250. Jett is trained by Johnny O'Mara!

Had an 83 honda CR 125. Did things with that bike that it was never designed to do. The eighties belonged to the "Red machines"
